So, we had time change, Halloween and the beginning of NaNoWriMo all at the same time. Whew! I had a bit of last minute panic about my plot. I don’t know why because a couple of days before November 1st, I felt really good about it.
It is always difficult for me to get into the first few pages of a book. Once I am at about page five then I am rolling. This year I did not do nearly as detailed and outline or character sketches as I normally do. I want to see what will happen if I let the story unfold as I write it. I don’t even have names and ages for some of my characters. I sure hope they give them to me when I need them!
Right now I am about 400 words above the word count I needed for today. Tomorrow is going to be a bit crazy as I lost my mind and scheduled a couple of appointments. I usually try to keep November appointment free.
Anyway, all is going well so far. I hope everyone else who is participating in NaNo is well underway. Good luck to you!

Day 2 and I am still breathing! I am a little behind in my word count since yesterday was my sixth wedding anniversary. But I am catching up.
I planned a great deal for the 50k and I am enjoying the ease of the story.
Congratulations on your anniversary. I hope you celebrated in a very special way. I know how that goes. My husband's bday is Nov. 15th, not to mention Turkey Day falling during "freaking out to obtain a ridiculous goal." I am sure that you will recover and be back on track soon.
Best wishes!
Tamara
I wrote 1923 words yesterday - way above my goal. None today as I worked, had an appointment, and am curling tonight.
I started my story today. I only write Mon to Fri usually. Weekends are family time. Since I'm aiming for a 60k book, I have to write 3000 words per day through the week. I did 3500 today, so I was pleased.
May your characters leap off your finger tips Tamara as you write away.
I'm not involved in this project but I'm cheering for you all along the way!
Good for you! The first two days I met and exceeded my word count a bit. Today I haven't written a word but I still have three hours before midnight and all I need is a good hour to meet today's goal, too.
I'm letting mine just happen, too.
Great job!! My first chapter always stinks. That's what revising's for, right? :)
Good for you! I applaud you and your fellow writers! Write on!
WC, Good for you on the 1923. Hope you have been able to write more by now. I am actually behind quite a bit at the moment but I refuse to panic. I will catch up! ;-)
Eileen, That is quite a goal. You go!!! I would love to set a schedule like that and stick to it. In fact, I am going to consider changing to five days a week. Once I am in the groove it really isn't that hard to pound out a bunch of words. (Usually!)
Drifter, Thank you! Your support is very much appreciated!
Corina, Good for you. I don't know yet about this working without and outline. I think I will know more in about a week. My fingers are crossed! ;-)
Jill, Thank you! And, yes, that is what revising is for. Right now it is just getting the story on paper!
Hope your writing is going well. I have missed you while you were offline. ;-)
Susan, Thank you! I so treasure your friendship and support!
Thanks everyone. I am behind in word count right now but I will remedy that before the weekend!
